First Love… Final Love…
Part Two: The Promise
woke up in the morning stretching her body still in lying in bed. She loved to sleep in but could quite do that because of all the missions she had been sent on. She rubbed her eyes to send the sleepiness away and sat up. She looked outside her window and saw that it was still dark so she let her body fall back onto the mattress. I had a weird dream, she thought as she stifled a yawn. I wonder what was the meaning of it? She closed her eyes and tried to remember the dream.
--------------------
~I was standing in the middle of a field and was surrounded by mist and darkness; I could feel fear in the air… A fear that made me shiver uncontrollably. I heard a woman’s voice cry out something that made no sense to me. I turned around towards the direction where I heard the scream, but I was walking in total blindness because of the darkness that surrounded me. I felt a chill course down my body as if someone was feeding me with fear. I looked around to see who was there, close to me but yet so distant.
As I spun around in the dark, my eyes caught sight of a maiden on her knees weeping in front of a huge white cross. I stopped myself from going around in circles and walked hesitantly towards the lonely crying woman. I looked for a coffin or something that would explain to me why she was crying but I could find nothing.
I decided to run to the woman but I could not reach her. She was so close and yet so far at the same time. I was running but I wasn’t moving; I was glued in place and couldn’t do much about anything. Suddenly, the darkness disappeared and faceless people appeared, wandering around in a deep red background. The woman sat up and looked around frightened; she had beautiful long hair but she was colourless… Nothing but black, white and grey shades.
Finally for the first time I saw that she was weeping over a man’s body. He felt familiar yet I couldn’t put a name on him. The maiden started to speak but the words she spoke could not be heard. The faceless people now stared at her with deathly glares and pointed their fingers at her, some threw stones to the pleading woman. I think she was asking for some kind of forgiveness but no one would hear her cries.
As the people attacked her, a black shadow loomed over the poor girl and protected her from harm. I wanted to run and help her too, but I was immobilized and could only watch their torture. They were both hit and cursed by the crowd that had surrounded them; blood was flowing through the air, around me, spilling on the ground and staining everything with its warmness.
After a few seconds that seemed like centuries to me, the mob of people disappeared in thin air. Only the maiden and the black shadow were there, lying on the ground covered in blood their hands holding each other. I started moving closer to the two bodies that lay almost lifeless on the ground, but before I could go any further, the woman looked up at me and spoke to me. For the first time her words reached my ears and I could hear her beg me for mercy.
After she spoke those words to me the two figures transformed into two pigeons; one black and one white; and then they turned into stone. Their small bodies where close to each other and their wings touched as if holding hands.
I felt hot tears run down my cheeks and could feel pain ripping my heart into a million pieces. I wanted to just drop on my knees and cry; cry because of the pain I felt inside, but my eyes wouldn’t avert from the two poor souls. ~
--------------------
She jolted from her bed covered in sweat and panting really hard. She didn’t want to see that dream ever again. She got up from her bed and went to the bathroom to wash her face. She was trembling as if she had really been through that entire ordeal and was not just another weird dream. She was used to having weird dreams, it was a part of her Innocence; something like a prediction of the future. Although most of the times she could not figure the meaning, but they never felt so real.
She looked at her reflection in the small mirror that hung on the pale wall. She frowned deeply and walked away towards the single window that her room had. She opened it and inhaled the scent of moisten grass. She decided to get dressed and go down to have something to eat before they would head out to the train station.
After changing into her regular uniform, packed her belongings in her small bag and exited her room. As she passed Allen’s room, the door opened and he greeted her with a smile. She smiled in return and waited for him to exit and go for breakfast.
“Did you have a good sleep ?” He asked cheerfully as he played with Timcampy.
was looking outside the window with a straight face, no emotion or expression what so ever. “Umm… I guess,” she answered absentmindedly.
Allen looked at her perplexed. He had known her for six months by know and could tell when she was in her mood swings, but today she was different. He felt that she was distant. He hesitated, but wanted to know details about her bad mood.
“What’s wrong ? Why are you in such a bad mood today?” He asked softly as to not anger her.
snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Allen surprised. “Oh! Nothing happened. I was just thinking about something,” she said and smiled. It was easy for a person like to smile even if she was depressed. She liked to look happy and cheerful to people around her.
They chatted about their mission and about the encounter Allen had with Road Camelot, the little girl of the Noah clan. was very curious about them, she had heard a lot of things from Bookman about them but she never heard about any of the clan battling against exorcists.
They left the inn a good twenty minutes later and made their way to the train station; they had to take the first train that left for the German borders. They got on the train as soon as they arrived and went straight to their compartment. The Order had their own cabins so no one would disturb them.
As the train started moving Allen pulled a deck of cards out his pocket. “Want to play a game?” He asked with a sly smile on his face.
laughed at his tone of voice. “Sure. Prepare to lose bean-sprout!” She teased in return, sticking her tongue out.
“Heeeey… You spend too much time with Kanda!” He muttered under his breath. “I don’t understand how you and Lavi have never met each other before though.” He continued as he shuffled the cards.
“Umm… don’t know really,” she said scratching the back of her head. “I know Bookman very well. Its weird!” She looked at Allen and hit him playfully on the forehead. “Come on, let’s play!”
It’s going to be a long journey, he thought smiling cheerfully at his friend.
------------------
Tyki had long woken up and was lying in bed with his hands tucked under his head. He was looking at the sky changing color as the sun rose in the sky through the window by his bed. This was his third morning waking up in this house.
He exhaled and sat up scratching his hair in frustration. He didn’t have much of a sleep last night; he was thinking about everything that happened in those two days. He couldn’t explain why he kissed her, why he was feeling so vulnerable whenever she was beside him.
He lowered his head and held his head. What are you doing you fool? He debated with himself trying to find answers to the million questions that where running through his mind. Why do I feel this way? I am not supposed to get involved with a human in that way. But what am I saying? I am human too.
“Aargh,” he growled in frustration and got up from his bed. He walked to the window and opened it. As he opened it, a sweet smell invaded his nostrils; he couldn’t help but smile. She is baking again, he thought brushing his hair with his hands to smooth it. I thought she finished yesterday though?
He changed into his clothes and left his room. He walked to the kitchen but stopped by the door. He crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe, looking at carefully with a small smile hidden on his lips.
He had done the same thing yesterday; what amazed him most was that he enjoyed staying quiet just looking at her busying herself around the kitchen doing things.
When failed to notice him standing there, he moved and walked behind her. He leaned his head down and inhaled her scent. “You smell like apples,” he whispered sensually trying to build up a romantic mood.
giggled pulling slightly away as his breath tickled her skin below her ear. “Wouldn’t that be obvious?” She asked in tease.
Tyki pulled a face of fake disappointment and kissed her cheek softly. He pulled away and poured himself some coffee. “Is there anything you need me to do?” He asked as he sat on the chair and placed his cup on the table.
laughed and walked over to him holding a plate with a slice of hot apple pie. She placed it in front of him and smiled sweetly. “I just baked this for you,” she said and sat next to him to have a cup of tea herself. “Would you like to go for a walk in the afternoon? I want to show you something special.”
Tyki wiped his mouth and looked at her in the eyes. “Sure. I’d love to go,” he sipped on his coffee. “Is it alright with you if I go wonder in the city a bit?” He asked as he got up from his seat to leave the plate and cup in the sink.
“I’ll wash them.” took the sponge from his hand. “You should go have fun. I will stay and do my chores, just be home for lunch,” she said with a small tinge of pink spreading over her cheeks.
He smiled at her innocence and lifted his hand to caress her hair. His hand moved to her chin and he cupped it lightly pulling her head to look at him. He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
It was something that wasn’t expecting; her eyes widened when his lips touched hers and her face immediately turned into a bright red color, making Tyki smile over her lips. His eyes when glued on her beautiful face; he was curious to see how she would react to his advances.
He pulled away slowly and smirked. looked away embarrassed but smiled and turned to look at him again. He lifted his hand and caressed her cheek before he turned around and walked out of the kitchen.
He stood outside the door, gazing at the scenery before him. He smiled and strolled along the patio to the small gate. As he exited he heard a faint sound coming from behind the hill that was behind the house, or at least he thought it came from that way.
He started to walk sideways to the fence and towards the hill. He wanted to stay with her today but he didn’t know if he could restrain himself from advancing more on her. He decided to just have a look around at the peaceful countryside before he had to leave to go meet his friends in Asturias.
He climbed the hill lazily and stood atop, gazing throughout the land in front of him. The faint sound that had caught his attention was heard louder now. He averted his gaze to the hills side and saw a building made of wood and a distinctive red tile roof with a cross on top. It’s a church, he thought wryly.
He decided to walk down the path of the hill to have a look at the surrounding area. As he approached down to the road he stumbled on something and fell over. He swore under his breath as he straightened himself up. He brushed the dust off his clothes and turned to look at what he stumbled on.
“Oh, what’s this?” He said surprised. He bent down and looked at the two black eyes that were looking so intensively at him. He scratched his head and sighed. I can’t believe I tripped over a lamb.
The baby lamb tried to get up from where he was but fell down again. Tyki saw it straggle again and realized that his leg was injured. It looks so funny, he thought looking at it. His color was white but his eyes and feet where colored black.
He straightened his body trying to decide what to do. “Oh, well. I guess I can take you somewhere,” he said aloud to the lamb and bend down to lift it up in his arms. He turned around and walked towards the church carrying the little lamb.
The bell sounded again; why does this sound make my heart skip a beat? He questioned himself mentally. Shouldn’t even care. As he got closer to the church, he saw people dressed in black coming out. He approached a man that was probably the priest’s helper and gave him the lamb.
He left the area, fleeing quickly and not wanting to cross paths with the Earl. I don’t want to go back yet. Once again he was struggling with his needs and desires. He heart was in such turmoil that it annoyed him beyond imagination. He only wanted to get answers, no more questions, just answers.
Tyki was a man of two personalities. Deep down in his heart the thought scared him. He shook his head and strolled down the road that led to a forest. He made his way through the woods and enjoyed the morning breeze quietly but that wasn’t going to last for long.
“Are you lost Tyki?” A voice behind sang sweetly.
Tyki stopped in his tracks with a deep frown forming on his handsome face. “Am I on some kind of surveillance?” He asked without turning back.
“Hee hee… No, I was just doing business,” the Earl said and bounced over to Tyki´s side. “We have work to do.”
Tyki rubbed a hand through his hair to ease his building frustration. “You have work, better leave me out of this,” he said coldly.
The Earl didn’t like the answer and looked at him seriously. “You are not going to betray me, right Tyki?” He asked in his usual singsong voice.
It irritated him to hear that voice; it made him feel sick. When he was in his human form, he didn’t want anyone disturbing him, but that wasn’t the case. The Earl had always been able to tag along wherever he was. If the Earl weren’t there, then someone from the Noah clan would be in his place and follow him around.
He sighed deeply. “Of course not. It didn’t even cross my mind,” he said as he lit a cigarette. He exhaled the smoke and look at its path, hypnotized. “Why are you still here Earl?” He asked without moving or looking at him.
The Earl just bounced in front of him. “I wonder myself,” he said and jumped in the air opening Relo to keep him from falling. “It is said that the Heart Innocence will revive only when two completely different people will join together in love. Betrayal from both sides.” Those were his last words as he disappeared through thin air.
Tyki took a final draw of smoke from his cigarette and threw it on the ground. He stepped on it and pushed his hands in his pockets. He turned around lazily and made his way to ’s house. He tried not to put too much thought in what the Earl told him, but couldn’t shake the feeling that he was one of the culprits.
He climbed the hill and trudged back down to the house. He opened the small gate and his eyes caught a moving figure on the other side of the building. He walked slowly over to the west side of the house and what he saw made him laugh uncontrollably.
trying to untangle a sheet she had left out to dry in the morning and couldn’t move. The wind had made the sheet tie itself around her and she was struggling to get it off her. He walked over, still laughing, to help the poor girl.
“Silly. What are you doing?” He asked trying to stifle his laughter.
looked at him with a face as red as a tomato; it wasn’t embarrassment but frustration. “Untangle me,” she ordered.
Tyki looked at her taken aback for a moment but began to laugh again. “So you have a bad side too, huh? You hid it well enough,” he teased as he lifted his hands to untangle the sheet from her body. glared daggers at him and he smirked.
As soon as his hands reached the sheet, his eyes looked at her. “You know, you look cute like this,” he whispered softly making gasp.
His hands that where holding the sheet drifted down and landed on her shoulders. He moved them to the back of her head and lifted her head slowly. He leaned his head down and covered her mouth with his lips. He moved his lips over hers sensually and bit her lower lip lightly.
not expecting that opened her mouth to cry out at the slight tug of pain she felt, but before she could do that, Tyki had slid his tongue in her mouth and was kissing her passionately. She responded to the kiss and moved her hands to his waist. She held him close and they both fell to their knees and on the cold ground.
He pulled away and trailed kisses all over her neck. “I guess you weren’t in much trouble,” he whispered between kisses.
giggled. “Is that the way to help a damsel in distress?” She teased as she moved her hands through his back and up to the nape of his neck. She caressed his hair lovingly.
“I wouldn’t know,” he answered as he was planting kisses all over her collarbone and behind her ears. “You are the first…”
[KISS]
“…I rescued…”
[BITE]
“You taste wonderful,” he finally said and pulled away to look at her. She is so beautiful, he thought when his eyes fell upon her flushed face.
When realized that he was looking at her, she pulled her hands away from his hair and covered her face to hide her embarrassment. “Don’t look at me like that,” she said with a muffled voice.
Tyki chuckled placing his left elbow on the ground next to her shoulder and rested his head on his palm. With his other he pulled one of ’s hands and brought it to his lips. “Don’t hide your face,” he said in deep low voice. “You look cute when you blush,” he teased and kissed each of her fingers.
pulled away her other hand and smiled sweetly to the man that was positioned on top of her. She loved having him around and she never wanted the moment to end. She lifted her hand and cupped his cheek; he turned his gaze to her and leaned down to kiss her lips once more.
He pulled away and pulled her with him. “I will go and have a shower. Do you need help with lunch?” He asked and rubbed a hand through his hair to settle his wild locks.
She laughed at his expression. “No. I can manage. You go have a shower and I will set the table.” She turned to fix the sheet that previously had caused so much trouble.
“Are you sure you can manage with that sheet?” He asked walking away.
smiled but didn’t answer. When she finished with the laundry she went to the kitchen and set the table for them to eat. She sat on the chair thinking about him; she was surprised that they were acting like a married couple and they only met three days ago. I feel like I’ve known him forever.
Tyki walked in the kitchen and found spacing out. He smiled mischievously and walked to her slowly, without making a sound. “I do hope that you are thinking of me,” he whispered and she jumped out of her thoughts immediately.
He started laughing at her surprised face. “You are so funny.” He sat on the chair opposite hers and waited for her to come back down to Earth. “Do you space out often?” he asked with a light chuckle.
frowned. “That is solely the fault of a certain someone. I will say no names,” she said and pointed her finger at him. He laughed at her antics and she followed him shortly after.
After their little spring of teasing, she got up from her chair and served lunch. They ate, making light conversation and after they finished Tyki helped her wash the plates and clean. They were teasing each other all the while and when looked at the clock she gasped at how fast the time had passed.
She realized that when she was on her own, time was moving boringly slow. That’s why she liked to train herself with the weapons her father left her with. She remembered his words when he gave them to her. ‘There might come a time when you will need to fight for your life and others, so learn how to use these weapons for when that time arrives.’ His words rang in her head and she smiled sadly.
Tyki moved his hand to her cheek when he saw her sad expression and caressed it lightly. “Why that sad look?” He asked softly.
looked at him with a quizzical look on her face. Was he watching me even then? She asked herself inwardly. She shook her head and smiled sweetly at him. “Umm, don’t worry. I just remembered something that my father had said to me before he left.”
“I see.” He scratched his jaw still looking at her. “What time are we going to that special place you told me?” He asked again.
“We should get going or else we will miss it,” she said walked past him but stopped abruptly. She turned to look at him smiling. “I think I will pack something sweet to have as desert.” She walked to the other end of the kitchen and pulled a small basket out of the cabinet; she went to the stove and pulled a small pan with pie on it and cut it into slices. She wrapped the pieces in a napkin and placed them in the basket.
She took the basket and they both left the house holding hands. They walked along the same path Tyki had taken that morning and climbed the hill. When they reached to the top Tyki thought that she would take him to the church but continued walking along the top of the hill towards a big tree. She pulled him along, and he followed without arguing.
His mind was preoccupied with concerns of being caught by someone of the clan or the Earl himself. He frowned at that thought and halted making stop too. He wanted to follow her, but he was afraid that she would be in danger if someone unexpected appeared. The words that the Earl spoke to him that same morning ran through his mind. ‘Betrayal from both sides.’ But what does that have to do with me and ? He asked himself puzzled.
He felt ’s hold on his hand tighten. He looked up at her and saw that she was looking back at him with a perplexed look over her face. “It’s nothing important,” he said to reassure her. “Let’s go.” He moved closer to her and smiled.
I wonder what he is thinking, she thought looking at him. But seeing that he smiled and told her that nothing was wrong, she brushed it off and began to walk towards the large tree. “We are here,” she said and left the basket on the ground.
Tyki looked around to see what was it that he was supposed to admire but found nothing that would pique his interest. “Am I supposed to see something up here other than this dead tree?” He asked, scratching the back of his head.
chuckled and swatted him on the forehead playfully. “Don’t call Papa-tree dead,” she and pulled him closer to the trunk where there was a big hole that could fit both of them. “Sit,” she ordered.
Tyki complied and sat in the right side of the hole while sat next to him. “I still don’t understand what I am supposed to see?” He questioned.
“Be patient,” she said looking into the horizon. “It’s something I want to share with you, so you can remember me when you leave.” She squeezed out a smile but didn’t look at him.
Tyki felt his throat go dry; he knew he had to leave her sometime soon, but he didn’t want to think about it nor did he want her to worry about him leaving. He would make sure to come back to her; because he already knew he couldn’t live without her.
“Don’t talk like that . Let’s just enjoy ourselves.” He moved his arm around her shoulder and held her tight. “You know, this is not the most comfortable position,” he said with sly smile.
looked at him amused. “I believe you have the mind of a pervert,” she teased sticking her tongue out.
“Not really. I am just a man with needs.” He pulled her on his lap and sat her between his legs. “Now that’s much better,” he said pleased and kissed her lips gently.
“You are unbelievable,” said in laughter but stopped soon after her eyes caught the sun setting over the Grand Mountains. “Look at the sky,” she whispered.
Tyki averted his eyes from her face and looked at where she was pointing. He was stunned by the vision in front of his eyes. The sky had started to turn into a very deep colour of rich pink with orange clouds pinned all over it; the sun had turned into a flaming red colour and his rays painted everything in their way. He looked to the small church that started sounding the bell softly. The scenery left him speechless. He could never think that he would be able to find such beauty in the world.
looked up and saw Tyki’s stunned expression. She smiled feeling she had achieved something great for the first time in her life. “I am glad you like it,” she said softly and planted a little kiss on his neck.
Tyki shivered when he felt her lips on his skin. He looked down and saw her beautiful eyes looking at him with so much love. “Nothing can compare to your beauty,” he whispered and leaned his head to kiss her forehead.
“You are very good with words aren’t you?” She teased. She turned her eyes towards the setting sun once again and lifted her hands to entwine her fingers with his hair. “You are such a sweet-talker.” She ruffled his hair, making it look messy. She leaned her head back and looked at him.
“Hey… Don’t mess my hair,” he complained with a pout.
“You look so cute when you pout,” laughed and turned her body to be able to look at him from a better angle.
He pinched her nose and she swatted at his hand playfully. “I want to bite your nose. Now that’s cute, not me,” he laughed and leaned his head forward. He nipped her nose lightly and pulled away.
“Wha… Hey, what are you doing?” screamed when she felt his teeth graze the skin of her nose. “Its eeeeewww!!! Don’t do that again!” she turned around and crossed her hands.
Tyki just laughed and placed his chin on her head. They watched the rest of nature’s show in silence holding her tight in his arms.
--------------------
Two days later
stirred in her bed. She was in a very uncomfortable position and was wondering why her muscles felt so sore. She moved her body a bit but groaned loudly in pain. She opened her eyes slowly and tried to focus her sight on the ceiling. She lifted her hand tiredly and rubbed her eyes as stifled a yawn. My back hurts, she thought as she turned to her side.
She had spent the whole day playing with Tyki, running and chasing each other like small children. She sat up wondering what time it was. She was sure that it was past her everyday wakeup time but she didn’t mind today, she had a great time yesterday.
She got up from her bed and stretched her body. “Oh… oh… Damn it! My body really hurts,” she said aloud to herself. She went to her closet and pulled out a clean outfit for her to wear and walked to the bathroom. She needed a warm bath to ease the pain she felt.
They had returned late last night; after dinner they sat in front of the fireplace talking about nothing and everything. She was amazed at how many subjects they could find to talk about. For the first time in her life she felt like she was whole. With the absence of her father she had become a bit of a loner. She always kept her childish innocence and ignored the problems of the real world.
That all changed though when the beautiful stranger crossed her path. They were living under the same roof for five days now, and not just living together but also acting like a married couple deeply in love.
smiled and lowered herself in the bathtub until her head and body where all under water. She popped her head out a couple of minutes later. She loved the idea of having someone with her all day. She didn’t feel lonely that way. She missed her father very much but wasn’t able to contact him, so she had no news of his whereabouts.
She leaned her head back on the bathtub and closed her eyes. She loved the feeling of hot water covering her body, relaxing it from its tenseness. The scent she loved to use was a mixture of apple, cinnamon and chestnut. She loved the smell of that mixture and she used it a lot.
Even Tyki found it nice, she laughed at the thought. The moment felt the water losing its heat she got out of the bathtub. She took a towel and dried her body and then wrapped a towel around her hair. She put on her clothes and looked at her image in the mirror. She was happy; she could see it and she could feel it.
As she turned to exit the bathroom her eyes caught a red spot on her neck. She leaned closer to the mirror and looked carefully at the red spot. Damn it, he bit me again, she thought with an amused smile. She didn’t really mind the marks he left on her.
She walked to the kitchen and prepared breakfast. She filled her cup with tea and waited for Tyki to come. She leaned against the window frame and looked outside. It was raining at the moment and the sky was gloomy. She liked the rain; she always thought that the rain had a feeling effect on people. Whenever she felt sad and lonely she would go out and stand in the rain.
She always felt that the raindrops took away all her sorrows and left her only with happy feelings. She looked at the kitchen door to see if Tyki was there; he liked to stand there quietly and look at her, but he wasn’t there. Her heart thumped hard, but she couldn’t understand why. She returned her gaze to the falling rain waiting for him to wake up.
She finished drinking her tea and looked at the empty cup. She turned once again to look at the door but he still hadn’t come. She decided to go wake him up. It was almost noon and he wasn’t up. She walked to his room that was her father’s and knocked gently on the door.
She waited a bit before she knocked again when there was no answer the first time. There was no answer the second time either. Her heart started beating really fast and she felt the air draining from her lungs at the thought that he wasn’t in his room.
She reached for the handle with her hand trembling and opened the door slowly. She popped her head inside the room slowly, not wanting to make any noise. She looked towards the bed. He wasn’t there. The bed was made and there was no sign of his clothes or of him.
She felt tears come up to her eyes, but she decided not to cry. She knew that he would leave her eventually, but she never thought that he would leave like this. Without a word, without a goodbye. She blinked the tears away and pulled the curtains open. She looked around the empty room once again before she walked to the door.
As she passed by the bed, her gaze fell on a white piece of folded paper. She picked it up and opened it. It was a letter written by Tyki to her. She walked out of the room with the letter in her hand and went to sit on the porch of her front door.
She sat on the first step and unfolded the papers. She looked at the rain that was still falling before she averted her eyes to read the content of the letter.
~ My ,
I don’t think I ever written a letter before in my life. To be honest I have never done anything of what I experienced living with you for these five wonderful days. You must hate me very much at the moment but I am really sorry. I have no way of explaining to you why I left without telling you a single word but I think you wouldn’t believe what I had to say.
It’s true I never discussed my past with you. I felt like I didn’t have to because you already knew. As you saw for yourself, we lived together as if we knew each other for a long time, so our pasts never meant more than just that. I will miss our time together, and I will miss holding you in my arms the most.
As I said to you, I left for reasons I cannot explain at present; I am confused myself over my own feelings and desires, but I do promise you that I will return to you on Christmas Eve. I know it’s still so far away, but that is the best that I can do for now.
I want to think about everything that happened; about whom I really am and what I truly value. My life seems so complicated at the moment that I can barely think straight, and it really doesn’t help when you are around. You make me lose my mind and senses. I guess all that is true right now is what I feel about you.
I am truly sorry to leave like a thief in the middle of the night, but I didn’t think that I would have had the strength to actually leave if I saw you. But I will see you again.
Take care,
I love you. ~
The tears that held inside began to run down her cheeks. She crumbled the papers and placed them in her pocket. She got up and strolled down to the patio; she stood in the middle of her garden and lifted her head towards the sky. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the falling raindrops that caressed her face. The rain washed her tears away and on her lips was a sweet smile.

Berlin station
A man with messy dark green hair and a pair of goofy glasses was sitting on a box in the cargo wagon of a train that was about to depart for the Southern regions of France. He looked at the falling rain with no expression on his face. His gaze lifted towards the sky. “I will see you again,” he whispered to himself. “I promise.”
