Summer Days
Who said that summer days can brighten the mood of fate?
Nothing is going to change…
There were so many reasons why disliked summer. She didn’t get what’s was so great about cocktails and night fireworks. The rush of the people on the traffic weren’t getting anywhere! And, everyday seems to be a bad hair day.
She also hated the guys who come up with lame pick-up lines, desperate for attention. She let out another sigh.
didn’t understand any of this summer loving, affecting everyone around.
…And it didn’t help that Rokkaku Chuu was near the beach and was packed with lovey-dovey couples all day.
Even her favorite hideout, under one of those tall coconut trees, was taken.
She frowned, crinkling her face. Then, she felt a finger hitting her forehead.

“What’s with that face?” She heard a chuckle, and saw a boy’s smiling face in front of hers, waving his other hand with a bag of lemonades.
“Kojirou…” She said, receiving a bottle of lemonade from the boy.
“You still hate summers eh?” the boy questioned with a tinge of amusement and concern.
“Well… it’s so humid, and I feel sticky, and everyone is so… in love?” The girl replied, trying to open her bottle but to no avail.
“Jealous?” Saeki said teasingly.
“No,” sulked, not at Kojirou but at her bottle of lemonade.
“What’s up?” Saeki asked, distracted by the look of frustration on ’s face.
He had always thought the girl’s sulking face was really cute, but he liked her smiling face more, it always looked like she was glowing, like an angel descending.

“Ne, Kojirou… I’m thirsty… and the bottle is not opening… Could you help please?” The girl asked politely after twisting and turning the cap for the twenty-first time.
Saeki lifted out his hand to receive the bottle, after a few turns, he managed to cock the cap away.
“Ah! Thank you Kojirou!” the girl finally showed a glimpse of her smile, and Saeki returned it gently.
She extended her hand to get the lemonade from Saeki, but the boy just grinned widely and drank a mouthful himself.
“Hey! Kojirou! You’ve so much for yourself already!” She pointed at the bag of drinks, “I’m thrist—-”
Before could complain even more, she felt the sweet lemonade down her throat, and also Kojirou’s rough, soft lips over hers.
Saeki winked mischievously at her, “Still thirsty?”
“Actually… yes,” she beamed brightly as Saeki closed in for another kiss.
Maybe she didn’t dislike summers that much.

Kojirou was so different from the other boys. He was a cut above all of them.
“Well! You smiled!” Saeki said cheerily, “So maybe you don’t hate summer that much huh?”
“Maybe~” she replied happily.
Kojirou then moved his hand slowly to feel for ’s, as they touched and felt each other’s warmth, the pair’s hands joined together blissfully.

“Guess I would enjoy some fireworks…’ she started.
‘If it’s with me right?” the white-haired boy beamed, completing her sentence.
Summer days, they have never been the same
And if you weren’t here and were out of my sight
I wonder what I would have become.
