A Game to Remember
As usual Shishido was yelling at Ohtori to keep his balance to do his scud serve. Ohtori sighed. He knew that Shishido was just helping him out and he’s grateful for it. So he sucked it up and prepared to do another serve.

was sitting in class as her best friend Kirihara was struggling to do the math questions. smiled. She had known Kirihara since she was a kid. He had lived next door to her for god knows how long and they happen to be in the same grade. She couldn’t remember how many times he had been there when she had to go to those hospital visits. had a heart disorder which required her to go to the hospital every two weeks. She’s had it since she was a child. Her mother died from it and her father has been very protective of . He couldn’t really do anything because he would always be at work trying to support the family and pay the hospital bills. Nonetheless, he was trusting of his daughter and knew that she was very careful of herself so he didn’t really have anything to be worried about.
“Neh -chan… what the heck is this symbol? Yanagi wrote it down on the training sheet,” Kirihara asked.
looked at the training sheet. Kirihara was scheduled to do laps after she had finished tutoring him.
“Akaya-kun… that sign means infinity… what did you do this time?” sweatdropped as she looked at the sheet.
“EHH?! INFINITY?? Just because I almost killed, I mean… never mind,” Kirihara smiled sheepishly.
sighed. “I have to go to work now Akaya-kun. I’ll help you after, ok?”
“I’ll come by and meet up with you. That is if I don’t pass out from those laps,” grumbled Kirihara as he walked towards the door.
~~~
worked at a local tutoring centre. She helped students from other schools and occasionally some tennis regulars from local schools.
“Alright Momoshiro-kun, which equation do you use in order to solve this?”
“Eto… AH! The Pythagorean theorem!”
“Very good! You’re getting the hang of this neh?” happily said.
“This stuff’s getting a lot easier since I’ve been taught by -chan!” Momo answered with a smile.
“Neh? Isn’t that your girlfriend Momoshiro?” asked as she saw a girl waving at them.
“Eh? An? Iie! She’s not my girlfriend!” Momo blushed and quickly packed his materials.
“Tomorrow same time?”
“Ummm… probably not because I have a game tomorrow. Plus I’m getting the hang of the material,” Momo replied.
“Alright. Give the centre a call before hand so you can book an appointment with me again. Unless you want Michiko-chan to work with you,” tells Momo with an evil grin.
“HER?!? No way! She creeps me out! The last time I worked with her she was giving me this look and she was actually drooling. So gross! I’ll see you later!” said Momo as he ran out of the centre.
smiled. It was so cute when Momo denies his crush for the girl.
~~~
“NANI??? Choutarou! Baka! What the heck are you doing?!?”
“Ah gomen Shishido-sempai. I was up practicing my serve and I forgot I had that test,” Ohtori answered with a hand on his head.
“Oy Choutarou. You need to bring up your marks or else Atobe and Sakaki won’t let you play,” Oshitari sighed.
Ohtori stood there, embarrassed at the whole situation. He was so focused on tennis that he had been slacking off on his schoolwork, especially his worst subject, math.
“Che! You better get somebody to help you out or else you’re gona get it,” Shishido lectured as he looked up at hes taller kohai.
“Ah Shishido-sempai. Can you help me with it?” Ohtori asked with pleading eyes.
Shishido sighed, “I’ll try man. But I’m not exactly the best person to ask for homework…”
“You’re playing with fire, Choutarou. Trust me,” piped in Gakuto.
“Oy! What’s that suppose to mean??” Shishido growled at the acrobatic player.
“They were scared of you more than the teacher,” said Oshitari with a smirk.
“O yea! I remember! The guy was so scared that he dropped the course because of him!” laughed Gakuto.
Ohtori sweatdropped and smiled. “Shishido-sempai can’t be THAT bad.”
~~~
“ARGH! Come on now Choutarou! It’s not THAT hard! Do it again!” Shishido barked at the silver haired boy.
Ohtori sighed. He was more confused than ever. The equations were giving him a headache and with Shishido’s constant yelling it didn’t help him at all.
“You know, there’s another option that you could take Choutarou,” a voice suddenly came out of nowhere.
“Ji-jirou-sempai?” Ohtori stuttered as he tried to look for where the voice was coming from.
Jirou was lying on a line of chairs that he set up as a bed. He yawned, “There’s a tutoring centre a few blocks from here. They don’t charge for much and they’re a lot patient than Shishido over there.”
“Nani?! I don’t see you helping him out!” Shishido snapped at the sleepy senior.
“Eh really? Hehe… no offense Shishido-sempai, but you’re making the questions just a tad more confusing that they already are,” Ohtori prepared himself to get yelled at.
“Che. Whatever. Go to the tutoring place. As long as it helps you I don’t care.”
“Arigatou sempai! I’ll go there now and get my work done so we can play later!” Ohtori said cheerfully packing his homework and ran out of the door.
“So that’s how you’re doing well in class Jirou. I always wondered how you manage to get good marks while sleeping in class.”
“ZZzz..zz…”
~~~
“Konichiwa. How may we help you?” the receptionist greeted Ohtori with a smile.
“Anou, I would like some help on my math homework,” Ohtori replied.
“Alrighty… hmmm… you’re lucky. One of the tutors is free right now. She’s great. Let me just call her over so you two can meet,” the receptionist said as she paged the whole centre.
A minute later a girl appeared. Ohtori stared. He couldn’t believe that he was getting help from a cute girl. She was around Shishido’s height and had red hair tied up in a ponytail. He noticed that her uniform was very familiar.
“Rikkai Dai, eh?” he thought.
“Nice to meet you. I’m . So you need some help in math?” she greeted.
“Ahhh… hai! Please help me or else I’ll be benched for the rest of the tennis season!” Ohtori replied quickly. He blushed realizing what he just randomly said.
The girl laughed. “Well, we need to get started so we don’t meet that fate.”
Ohtori smiled. As they both walked towards a desk that sat next to the window, he looked at his surroundings. It was fairly small. A huge glass window was the only thing that brightened up the place. It was nice. They can see the outside which was a simple garden. A few students were also sat near the window. It was very peaceful.
“Alright. Let’s get started. Let’s see what your class is doing,” ’s voice broke Ohtori’s trail of thought.
“AH hai!” Ohtori flustered as he shuffled through his bag.
couldn’t help but smile. It was so cute to see a tall guy like Ohtori blushing and looking confused as he tried to get his homework organize.
”Ok, let’s see where we should start…”
~~~
“Shishido-sempai!!! Look!!!”
Shishido was tying his shoelaces when Ohtori ran into the change room waving a sheet of paper.
“What is it Choutarou?? Don’t tell me you failed your test again!” grimaced Shishido.
“No no! I got 86% Shishido-sempai!!” Ohtori exclaimed excitedly. He had been going to the centre and have been meeting up with almost everyday.
Shishido looked so surprised. A smile came to his face.
“Alright! That’s awesome Choutarou! Now you can play with no worries!” cheered Shishido.
“Anou… I would have been in major trouble if it wasn’t for -chan…” Ohtori flushed as he thought of the past days that she’s been teaching him.
“Calm down Ohtori-kun. Breathe!” laughed
Ohtori was panicking ever since the teacher had just announced that they were going to have another test so those who had failed or barely passed could get a second chance.
“I have to do well on this one or else Shishido-sempai will kill me! If he doesn’t, I’ll kill myself!” Ohtori said has he put his head down on the table and rubbed his head with both his head.
“Mou, you’re so cute when you do that Ohtori-kun,” giggled .
Ohtori froze when he heard her giggle. His face went crimson.
“Eh? Ohtori-kun? Are you ok? Are you gonna be like those students who pass out after hearing the word test? Calm down!!” said with genuine care in her face.
“Iie… let’s get started!”
“Oy Choutarou. Nice job on the test,” congratulated Oshitari.
“Oh? Choutarou managed to survive Shishido’s wrath? I’m impressed!” laughed Gakuto as he walked behind the kansai player.
Ohtori blushed, “Anou… Actually I was getting help from somebody else…”
“Hnn? Is it a girl? Our Choutarou’s growing up. Nah Kabaji?”
“Usu”
Ohtori turned around to see Atobe and Kabaji, carrying Atobe’s equipment.
“EHH? You didn’t tell me that it was a girl that was helping you! Did you thank her properly?” Shishido asked.
“Ah, I just got the test back this week. I’m gonna drop by today though and thank her,” replied Ohtori. He smiled at the thought of showing that all the hard work that she’s done for him has paid off.
“Arn? Why is everybody still in here? Get you butts on the court!”
~~~
Ohtori was happily walking towards the centre. He couldn’t wait to see ’s face once he whip out his 86% math exam.
“She’s gonna be so proud!” he thought cheerfully.
“Konichwa! Ah Ohtori-san! You must be here for -chan,” the receptionist said.
“Hai. Is she busy with somebody right now?” Ohtori asked.
“Iie, she’s not in right now. She should be at the hospital going for her checkup. She’ll be back tomorrow though. You can come back tomorrow,” the receptionist replied with a smile.
“Hospital? Checkup?” Ohtori thought. He was confused to say anything. “Ah Arigatou,” was all he could say.
As Ohtori was walking out of the centre he bumped into another student.
“Watch out where you’re going!” the voice yelled.
“Ah! Gomenasai!” said Ohtori. He paused, “Kirihara-san?”
“Eh? Hyoutei eh? Heh. Didn’t expect you guys to come down to a place like this. Don’t you have somewhere else to go to spend all your money?” sneered Kirihara.
“Ah… I’m not as rich as Atobe-san,” replied Ohtori with an embarrassed smile.
“Che. Whatever. Yo Erika-chan! Do you have any messages for ? She’s staying overnight at the hospital tonight and she doesn’t want any of her clients to get too lost without her.”
“Ah of course Kirihara-kun. Here is a bunch of people who called. O! why don’t you bring Ohtori-kun? He wanted to see -chan and it seemed like it was urgent,” said the receptionist.
Ohtori looking surprised for the sudden invitation.
“Ah! Iie… it’s ok!i’ll just see her when she comes back! I don’t want to trouble Kirihara-san!” he blubbered feeling really awkward.
“O? So you’re Ohtori eh?” Kirihara stared at the tall boy.
Ohtori sweatdropped.
“Doesn’t he remember me from the tournaments?”
“Whatever. I’ll bring you just because won’t stop talking about you. Let’s go,” Kirihara waved.
Ohtori looked even more surprised. He wasn’t sure what he should be more surprised about, the fact that Kirihara agreed to take him or that was talking about him.
~~~
The walk towards the hospital was quiet. Ohtori wasn’t sure what to say to the boy beside him. As they got closer to the hospital, Ohtori suddenly realized that he didn’t bring anything to see .
“Wait Kirihara-san!”
Kirihara stopped, obviously annoyed.
“I… I just want to get something for . Hold on a second!”
Ohtori quickly walked into the flower store that was a few blocks from the hospital.
~~~
was lying on the bed staring out the window when Kirihara and Ohtori came in.
“Ah Akaya-kun! Took you long enough!” laughed .
“Ah gomen gomen. But this baka wanted to get you something.”
Ohtori stood at the door and looked at . She looked so fragile and slightly pale. He couldn’t believe that she was in this state.
“Ara? Ohtori-kun! Ahaha… this is embarrassing. I’m sorry for you to see me like this,” gave a sheepish laugh.
“Ah! These are for you -chan!” Ohtori said snapping out of his thought.
“Wow thanks Ohtori-kun! That’s really sweet of you! But I’m only here for a day and it’s not like I’m dy-”
“Don’t even think of saying that!” Kirihara barked causing and Ohtori to jump.
looked at Kirihara and smiled.
“I bet you’re the reason why I have to stay in the hospital overnight. Your yelling and lecturing probably cut down my lifespan to half,” joked .
Kirihara, clearly not amused, went to take a seat beside .
“Anou…” Ohtori didn’t know what else to say.
and Kirihara looked at the Hyoutei player. looked at Kirihara, signaling him to talk a walk.
Kirihara, looking insulted, glared at Ohtori but obediently left.
“Hehe… Sorry about that. Akaya-kun’s really protective of me,” said with a small smile.
“Ah. So you guys are going out neh…makes senses…” Ohtori sadly said.
“Iie. He’s like a brother to me! Everybody thinks he’s this evil guy who wants to hurt everybody, no wait he IS… just kidding!” laughed.
Ohtori sweatdropped.
“I’ve never actually seen Akaya-kun play tennis. O yea! You play tennis too right?” asked
“O yea I do! I play doubles with Shishido-sempai,” smiled Ohtori.
“That’s good… Shishido-sempai sounds like a great guy. He sure cares about you a lot Ohtori-kun.”
Ohtori smiled. “Yea he’s a great guy. Kinda motherly coz he’s always worrying about me, but I know that it’s his way of helping me out.”
“That’s good. So to what do I owe the pleasure of having you visit me here Ohtori-kun?” asked.
“Ah! I almost forgot!” Ohtori yelped and rummaged through his backpack to take the test out.
“Look at what I got for the test! 86%”
’s eyes lit up, “That’s great! I’m so proud of you!”
Ohtori’s cheeks turned pink. “It’s all because of -chan. All your hard work and patience with me.”
“You put in all the effort! I just gave you a little guidance. You’re smarter than you think Ohtori-kun,” beaming at the boy.
“Ahaha… Anou… Are you busy next week? I have a tennis tournament and was wondering if you would like to see my school play…” Ohtori asked with a hand behind his head.
smiled. “Really? I’d love to! Akaya has never taken me to a tournament. He’s always so worried about me not being able to handle the atmosphere. But I’m a big girl and I know what I’m doing.”
“Are you sure it’s ok? If Kirihara-san…” Ohtori sounding worried and scared. He didn’t want the fury of Rikkai Dai’s devil to come after him, especially when nationals are right around the corner.
“Pffftt! It’s just Akaya. He can’t stop me,” winked .
Ohtori was amazed at how she is taking Kirihara so lightly. He laughed.
“Alright! Do you know where Hyoutei is?” nodded.
“Just go there after school. We’ll be playing right after school. There’s no need to rush though. I’ll be playing doubles one so it won’t be for a while. No actually, try to get there as soon as possible coz doubles two might finish their game quick and then we’ll be up. Ahh… I’m rambling on again…” Ohtori chuckled.
laughed, “Don’t worry Ohtori-kun. I’ll be there. It’s getting late. You should head home. And good job on the test. Keep it up!”
Ohtori smiled, “I will, but then that means I won’t be seeing -chan as often. Ah! I’ll see you later!”
blushed as Ohtori walked out of her room.
~~~
“EH?? You’re gonna go to a game?? No way! I forbid you!” yelled Kirihara.
“Mah, Akaya-kun. Calm down. I’ll be fine. There’s no need for you to freak out on me like that. Besides, you never take me to you games so I’m going to Ohtori-kun’s,” argued
“But… are you sure you’re going to be okay? You have never been to one of those games. It’s loud and exciting and and…” Kirihara trying to think up of more reasons for not to go.
“I’ll be fine Akaya-kun. I’ll call you right after the game alright?” laughed as she scratched his head.
Kirihara sighed. “Alright alright. If anything happens, you call me right away and I’ll be there to pound the living crap out of those Hyoutei snobs!”
~~~
“Hyoutei Hyoutei!”
The atmosphere of the court was clearly for Hyoutei. With over 200 members the shouting could only get louder.
Ohtori was searching for over the huge crowd of fans.
“Choutarou… Are you looking for your girlfriend?” teased Gakuto.
“Oy leave him alone,” Shishido said as he smacked Gakuto on the head then looking at Ohtori, “She’ll be here Chouta-”
“There she is! Oy! -chan! Over here!” Choutarou waved excitedly. saw Ohtori and waved. Ohtori couldn’t believe that she made it.
“Heh… she’s cute Choutarou,” smirked Oshitari.
Choutarou gave a small chuckle.
“Buchou, is it ok for -chan to sit with the team? She’s really… fragile,” he meekly asked.
“Arn? I guess so. Or else you won’t play to your fullest”
Ohtori blushed as he waved over. “ -chan, meet my team mates.”
“Nice to meet you all,” bowed.
“Cute and has manners. Nice one Choutarou,” Oshitari observed.
“Ehh… sempai…” Ohtori trying to stop the teasing.
“Alright everybody! Let’s play. Ore-sama’s fans are waiting to see ore-sama’s prowness.” Atobe smirked.
~~~
watched in amazement as Ohtori did his scud serve which blew the opponents racquet away.
“Wow! I didn’t know that Ohtori-kun was this good!”
’s heart was beating a mile a minute as she watched Ohtori do another scud serve.
“Game and match Hyoutei! 6 games to 2!” announced the referee.
cheered as Ohtori and Shishido gave each other a high five. She was so happy and excited. She’s never felt so alive!
Tha-DUB.
’s eyes widened. Suddenly, everything went black.
~~~
Ohtori was sitting outside the emergency room. His chest was hurting a lot. He couldn’t believe what just happened.
“ -chan!” Gakuto yelled.
“Kabaji! Get her to the limo!” Atobe ordered
“Usu!” said the second year.
“I just called the hospital. They have made preparations for ’s arrival,” Oshitari called out.
“Choutarou! Don’t just stand there! GO!” Shishido yelled at him.
Ohtori covered his face as Shishido tried to make his partner feel better.
A group of students suddenly came into the waiting room where Ohtori and Shishido were staying.
“YOU!”
Ohtori looked up and saw Kirihara, ready to tear him apart.
Kirihara grabbed a hold of Ohtori’s collar.
“YOU!!! It’s all your fault! Now look at what you’ve done! If she dies you’re next in line!!!” Kirihara screamed at Ohtori.
Ohtori just stared at his attacker, who’s eyes were as read as blood, and looked away.
“Akaya. Calm down and put him down.”
Kirihara growled and released Ohtori.
“I’m sorry about Akaya’s behaviour,” a boy with a cap apologized.
“It’s alright Sanada-san,” replied Shishido.
Ohtori sighed. As Kirihara and the rest of the Rikkai Dai team took a seat. He knew it was his fault that had passed out. He knew that if she died it would be his fault.
Ohtori covered his face once more and tilted his head back.
~~~
was wearing an oxygen mask when the Rikkai Dai students were allowed to see her. It had been a week after the incident and ’s condition has stabilized. She looked at her visitors and smiled.
“Yo.”
“Don’t you yo me missy,” sneered Kirihara. He looked at her, sighed and took a seat.
“How are you feeling -chan?” Yagyuu asked as he put the bouquet of flowers that the team had bought in a vase.
“Much better. The doctor said that I should be out in a few days,” replied with a small smile.
“That’s good. Wah! Cakes!” Marui said as he ran towards the table of goodies.
“Oy oy, those are for -chan Marui,” Jackal said trying to hold back the sweet-toothed boy.
laughed through her mask. Kirihara couldn’t believe how was still able to laugh as she almost lost her life. He smiled.
“Eh? Akaya-kun’s smiling. That means he’s not mad at lil old me, right?”
Kirihara looked up to see giving him one of her angelic smiles.
“God damnit . Don’t give me that smile, you know I can never stay mad at you,” Kirihara said as he walked towards her and gave her a hug.
”Ah! Have you seen Ohtori-kun around? I haven’t heard anything from him in a
while,”
asked the team.
Each boy looked at each other. Then at Kirihara. Kirihara, feeling everybody look at him shrugged.
“He’s probably scared to death of what Kirihara did to him,” Marui managed to say while stuffing his face with cookies and chocolates.
“That’s rude Marui and quit shoving food into your face,” Jackal said, trying to give Marui the Heimlich maneuver as he chocked on a piece of malt ball.
frowned.
“What did you do now Akaya-kun? Please tell me you didn’t threatened him,” sighed.
Kirihara scratched his head and looked down guiltily. “You almost died because of HIM!” Kirihara whined.
’s frown deepened as she looked away from the team.
Seeing the look on ’s face, the whole team glared at Kirihara.
~~~
“What???”
“Akaya, there’s an 85% chance that -chan is sad because of what you did and there’s a 97% chance that she misses Ohtori,” Yanagi calculated as they were leaving the hospital.
“Che! I’m not letting that guy near -chan if it’s the last thing that I do,” Kirihara snarled.
“Akaya, don’t you care about how -chan feels?” Jackal asked softly.
“I thought you wanted what’s best for -chan. Unless you want us to do something to that Hyoutei guy before we let him near her again?” Niou said showing an evil grin.
“Then that would get Akaya into more trouble if we do something to him. Plus Sanada will have our heads if he found out that we did something to one of our competitors,” Yagyuu informed the trickster.
Kirihara just sighed as continued walking ahead of his teammates.
~~~
was back at school and as usual, she was helping her fellow classmate with his homework. Kirihara was having trouble with the new chapter again, he was pulling his hair out of his head.
“ARGH! My brains gonna blow up if I don’t get the hang of this!”
giggled then sighed.
“Akaya-kun, I don’t remember how I ended up in the hospital again.”
Kirihara stopped and looked at .
“All I remember is that Ohtori-kun invited me his tennis match. After that, I don’t recall what happened,” continued.
“And because of that, I want to go through with the heart transplant.”
Kirihara’s eyes widened.
“I know that it’s a gamble and I’m scared to death of the operation, but if I can’t even remember how Ohtori-kun’s game went… I don’t know how I can face him… and I’ve caused everybody so much trouble especially you, Akaya.” ’s voice trembled.
Kirihara felt his heart drop. After forcing Ohtori to stay away from , he was all that she wanted to see. Kirihara smiled. She was always the thoughtful one and never wanting to trouble anybody. All she wants is to help others and never hurt their feelings.
“The operation’s scheduled for tomorrow so I have to go home and get my stuff. Wish me luck Akaya.” waved goodbye and took off.
Kirihara stared at his best friend as she ran out of the school. He knew that she didn’t want to cry in front of him.
“Don’t worry . I’ll make things right for you” Kirihara silently promised.
~~~
Ohtori was quietly sitting on the bench as he waited for his turn to practice. He had been like that for the past week after the confrontation with the Rikkai Dai junior ace.
“If I ever see you near her, I’ll beat you so hard that even kami-sama won’t recognize you!”
“Oy! Choutarou! It’s your turn!”
Ohtori sighed as he slowly got up and took his position. Shishido frowned. He couldn’t bear to see his kohai to be so depressed. He was ready to pound Kirihara, but he knew that Ohtori won’t allow it.
“Choutarou! Your serve! Watch it!” a senior yelled at Ohtori.
Ohtori just looked and sighed as he set himself up for another scud serve.
~~~
“Don’t worry Choutarou. Today was just an off day for you,” Shishido said trying to make the boy feel better.
“You’re probably right Shishido-sempai…” Ohtori smiled weakly.
Shishido sighed and looked up at the sky. It was a nice day and the birds were chirping. The two boys would have been joking around and would have silly arguments about something that happened during practice. But it was obvious that one of them was not in the chatting mode.
“Che. You guys are less annoying when there are only two of you and not have 200 students screaming.”
Ohtori looked for who the voice belonged to. Seeing Kirihara leaning at the corner of the street Ohtori immediately stopped and felt sick to his stomach.
“Oy! Quit giving Choutarou a hard time! He’s hasn’t seen her and it’s affecting his game! You jerk…” Shishido said menacingly as he walked towards the Rikkai boy.
“Shishido-sempai! Calm down! I’ll go talk to him,” Ohtori holding onto the older boy’s shoulder.
“Heh! You’re lucky Choutarou’s a nice guy or else you would have been dead meat. Five minutes Choutarou,” Shishido grunted.
Ohtori nodded as Shishido walked ahead.
“What is it Kirihara-san?”
“It’s about -chan”
~~~
It has been a month and was finally going to be released. Ohtori wanted to go see her but he has been busy with tournaments and intense training that Atobe had made the team perform.
“She’s going through the operation just so she can remember the matches that you play.”
Ohtori was confused.
“She doesn’t remember the last match. She did remember that she was going to it, but she doesn’t remember the result. Stupid girl,” Kirihara said quietly.
“She used to have a lot of these little memory loses. Anything that excited her would cause her heart to work overdrive and causing her to pass out. She would usually brush it off because she’s afraid of going through with the operation. Che. It looks like you just might be the reason she’s taking that risk.”
Ohtori didn’t know what to say.
“Kirihara-san…”
“If you do ANYTHING to make her cry, I’ll hunt you down and slaughter your sorry ass.”
With that, Kirihara walked away from the stunned Ohtori.
Ohtori smiled. “I guess I have Kirihara’s blessing.”
~~~
“Oh? Choutarou’s smiling. Heh… finally. Haven’t seen that in a while,” said the blue haired kansai.
“Eh?! So can we FINALLY get some good games from you Choutarou?” bounced Gakuto who was preparing himself for the game ahead.
“Oy shut up and leave him alone,” Shishido said as he balanced his racquet with one finger.
“Let’s go Choutarou. Let’s finish our game quickly so you can go see -chan.”
“Hai sempai!”
~~~
“Game and match Shishido-Ohtori pair! 6 game to love.” the referee said.
Ohtori was already packing his stuff and was ready to leave the court when Shishido tapped Ohtori’s shoulder. Ohtori snapped his head up and looked at where Shishido was pointing. There stood waving at him.
Ohtori’s eyes lit up. He dropped his bag and ran towards her. He stopped in front of her face. She looked up.
“Long time no see, Choutarou-kun!”
Ohtori smiled and lifted the girl, then hugged her. “I thought you were going to be released this afternoon!” Ohtori exclaimed.
“Iie. I was actually released two weeks earlier than scheduled. I’ve been watching your matches Choutarou-kun. And I remember them all,” replied.
Ohtori was surprised to hear that she has been watching him from behind the crowd.
“Neh, you need to work on approaching the net faster,” winked.
“Don’t worry,” Ohtori smiled.
“I’ll remember.”
