Loving You

“Wakashi! Matte yo…” called out . Hiyoshi Wakashi stopped in his tracks and turned to her in annoyance. “Could you please hurry up??” he glared at her.

He was always like this. Grumpy. Cranky. Angry. Whatever that had to do with anger, he had it.

“Wakashi! Why are you always so mean to me?” she pouted, as she got closer to him. Hiyoshi ignored her and just walked on. “Ne… Wakashi… It’s almost Christmas. Can you at least be nicer to me?” she said with puppy dog eyes.

“Hmph. Whatever,” he rolled his eyes and turned away from her. giggled at his behavior. He always did that when he didn’t know what to say. Walking closer to him, she slid her arms around his and held it tight.

“Wakashi… Don’t be so mean…” she teased and snuggled on his arm. She could feel Hiyoshi’s body stiffen at her touch. She loved teasing him in public. He would never react except blush if there were people around. But if no one was around, he would be teasing her or scolding her. But recently, he had been acting differently.

Usually when she went to visit him at his grandfather’s dojo, he would ignore her and practice by himself, until he was forced to greet her by his grandfather. Now, he would wait for her to come, greet her and then run to practice.

smiled to herself as her thoughts faded away. “Can you please let go?” Hiyoshi hissed softly at her.

“Doshite?” she asked and held on tighter. Hiyoshi grumbled and gazed to his left. turned to that direction and she noticed two familiar figures walking towards them.

As the two figures walked closer, Hiyoshi grasped ’s hands tightly and forcefully pulled them off. “Wakashi!” she cried out in pain.

Ignoring her cries, Hiyoshi walked closer to the two figures and greeted them. “Oshitari-san, Gakuto-senpai…”.

Oshitari Yuushi grinned as he saw next to Hiyoshi. “You two on a date?” He nudged Hiyoshi.

“Iie! We’re just out… Together…” he growled.

“Sou ka… But isn’t that the same?” teased Mukahi Gakuto.

“Hmmm… Don’t you think so, ne?” he poked on the arm. “Er… I guess?” she replied with a strawberry face.

“Che! Leave her alone!!” growled Hiyoshi, as he pulled her away from his fellow seniors. smiled.

“Mmm? Why look at this Yuushi, his boyfriend instincts just came in!” laughed Gakuto.

fleeted a glance at Hiyoshi. She noticed that he was blushing slightly and his fists were clenched up. 'Oh no! He’s not going to beat them up, is he?' she thought frantically. She was getting ready to stop him when suddenly, Hiyoshi pulled her to him and, walked away from the other two boys.

“I guess we’ll see you two around then,” chuckled Oshitari, as he and Gakuto went off in their direction.

After a while, spoke up. Breaking the silence around them. “Wakashi… I was worried you were going to hit them…” she spoke softly.

“I won’t beat up anyone in front of a girl,” he said, coldly, as they walked into a department store.

couldn’t help but smiled at him.

Browsing through the gifts section, saw a small figurine of the Sagittarius zodiac. “This will look perfect on Wakashi’s study desk!” She smiled to herself as she picked the figurine up and headed to the counter to pay for it.

After paying, she headed to the books section where she found Hiyoshi huddled in a corner reading.

“7 School Mysteries, eh? You just love them don’t you?” She smiled as she tapped on the book cover and sat down beside him.

“You finished buying what you wanted?" He spoke to her without even looking up from the book.

“I’ve got everything I need; except one thing…” she said softly.

“Hn… Then go get it! Come back here after you're done,” he growled at her.

“Well… I sort of found it but it can’t be bought.”

“How much do you need, then?” Hiyoshi asked, in an annoyed tone.

“It can’t be bought Wakashi…” Her eyes softened as she spoke.

“Eh?” Hiyoshi looked up at her in confusion. smiled as she leaned in and placed a kiss on his cheek and got up to leave. Hiyoshi stared at the girl walking away from him. He felt as if his muscles where frozen for a moment.

Dropping the book he was reading, he ran up to her. “Wh-what was that about?” he asked her as he walked by her side, his face slightly flushing.

“It’s nothing…” she looked down to the ground, her long hair covering her blushing face.

“Hmmm?” was the only thing he could say. Their journey home was a silent one. No one spoke but it was visible that Hiyoshi was stealing glances at . As they walked by a park, walked towards the swings and sat down.

Hiyoshi walked towards her and sat in front of her on the ground. smiled at him and handed him the small package she had bought earlier. Hiyoshi took it reluctantly. “What’s this?” he asked with curiosity, as he eyed the small package in his hands with pure interest.

“It’s for you… Happy Birthday, Wakashi,” she said with a warm smile. “It’s not even my birthday yet… But thank you,” he smiled at her. For the first time, he smiled at her. And the smile was a smile he rarely showed. “I wanted to give it to you before anyone else does…” she smiled.

“ …”

“Hai, Wakashi-kun?” she looked at him, wondering what’s on his mind. Hiyoshi stretched his arms out and pulled her down into a warm embrace. “Wa… Wakashi…?” Her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked into the boy’s eyes.

“Thanks for changing me… I’ve never felt this happy before.” Hiyoshi laid his head on her shoulder, almost snuggling. moved her arms to his back, holding him tighter.

As the sun started to set upon them, Hiyoshi moved in and placed his lips on her soft luscious lips. willingly parted her lips giving Hiyoshi’s tongue more access. She never felt such warmth from him before and, for him, he never felt love from a girl before.

“I love you.”
