Part Five: Chances / Oshitari Yuushi

"I want to try the X-Zed special cotton candy Yuushi." said to her best friend. He smirked, "you have a weak stomach, you'll puke after going on a ride." She snorted, "please, I bet you 5830⁽²⁾ Yen I won't puke!"

30 minutes later...

"BLEHH..." Wiping her mouth she stared at the girls bathroom mirror and cursed angrily to herself. "I just lost 5830 yen." Walking out of the girls bathroom, she tossed the money at him.

"Yeah I know I lost the bet, here's the money..." He chuckled, "I was just kidding, I'm not poor, I don’t need your money."

Looking at the map her smile widened, "let's go to the food court."

He sighed, "don't you ever learn your lesson, and why are we eating again?" Smiling cheekily at him she laughed nervously, "I only wanted to eat again because the food here sounded so awesome and you know me, I love food more than fun ahaha!" Grabbing his arm she pulled him towards the food court.

"Fresh takoyakis!!" A woman shouted through her food stand. "Oh, let's go there!!" shouted pulling Yuushi towards the stand.

"Pearl tea, nice and cold!!" Tugging him towards the little cafe she laughed happily, "Extra tapioca please!" The cashier register smiled at her, "if you buy an extra large Pearl tea with extra tapioca you get a free jelly donut and you look like a girl who enjoys sweets!" Oshitari snorted, "we're fine..." Shoving him aside 's eyes beamed with excitement and enthusiasm. "I'll take it!!!"

As she munched happily on her donuts he felt a sweat drop roll down the side of his head. "So far you ate 7 chocolate donuts, 5 ice cream pops, 3 jelly donuts, 8 takoyakis, 4 okonomiyakis, and you drank 10 sodas and 3 extra large pearl tea with extra tapioca...you do know that it's all going down to your waist." She glared at him, "I'm not fat nor am I close to it, I exercise so I have no guilt in overeating."

"Cotton candy, special X-zed cotton candy!!" The shouts of the cotton candy man were heard by as she rushed past Oshitari with a jelly donut hanging from her mouth. He sighed and his cellphone rang. Pulling it out he answered it grimly, "Hey..."

"Arn~ is that how you greet ore-sama?"

"I was just kidding, hey Atobe."

"Hmm so did you tell her yet?"

"It's not really happening right now, all we've done so far is eat..."

"What a complete waste of money and time, not only are you spending your money on cheap fast food, but you're not even enjoying the rides, the whole point of X-zed is to have fun right?"

"You know what, I know that, but all she wants to do is eat, you have no idea how many donuts she's devoured."

"I'm going to guess a lot?"

"Yeah, and it's so weird, it's like she's trying her best not to get on a ride with me, we only went on 1 ride and she sat as far away from me as possible."

"She's avoiding you?"

"You could put it that way I guess."

"You know, we skipped practice today as a excuse to hook you guys up and the good part is that I'm not interfering, by the end of the day you better not be single.."

"I got it, I better go now."  

Shutting his phone off he suddenly saw two huge cotton candy's shoved up to his face. "Hee hee, I wanted you to try green tea cotton candy with me!" His expression dropped, the sound of green tea cotton candy didn't really excite him much. Taking the cotton candy reluctantly he saw that the smile on her face still hadn't faded. Pulling his sleeve she tugged him towards the carousel. "At night time, a lot of people leave X-zed and then the whole place becomes a couples paradise, the carousel is the place for couples to have fun and experience magic, it's nice don't you think?" He nodded slowly, "well, I guess." She smiled at him and lead him towards the long line for the mirror house. He gripped onto her hand tightly as they both guided through the crowd of people. She felt her heart skip a few beats, for as long as she could remember being friends with him. He had never once held her hand so tightly before, it was so shocking for her and at the same time tingly.

"Oh wow, the exits seem like they're everywhere...so confusing." She whispered to herself as they both walked around the mirror house. For those long hours of trying to find the exit, he never once let her hand go and throughout the whole time she was nervous. The minute they exited the house of mirror she quickly pulled her hand away and smiled nervously. "Let's go get something to eat again!" Without letting him say anything she ran past him and quickly placed her hand on her chest making sure her heart didn't jump right out of her. Biting her lip hard she took a deep breath, "what's wrong with me...I should be happy not nervous..." Hugging herself tightly she turned around to see what he was doing. Taking a deep breath she stood up and perked her face into a smile, "I shouldn't be stressing myself over something like this...go , you're a girl with many luck and power!"

"What...are you doing...?"

Jumping a little she gasped, Oshitari had been watching her while she babble non-stop to herself. "Nothing, so shall we go eat something?" His face expression dropped into a sickened expression. "I don't want to eat anymore..." She frowned at him, "then let's go home?" He hesitated, 'I didn't come all this way and eat so much for nothing, if I go home now then this was all for nothing, I might not get another chance like this often.'

"I guess you're not satisfy with just food, let's go to the ferris wheel." Pulling him towards the ferris wheel he sighed, 'her scent is so sweet...so intoxicating.' As they waited in the line for their turn on the ferris wheel, the crowd shoved and pushed so for about 8 minutes. They were both so close together and when their turn for the ferris wheel came they walked very slowly towards the ferris wheel. Taking a seat next to each other he put an arm around her shoulder. She shuddered, "ew what are you doing?" Quickly withdrawing his arm from her shoulder he straightened his face expression and quickly looked away.

She twitched a little, "That was creepy, don't do that again." He pushed his specs up, "Sorry..." She smiled a little and handed him a piece of candy. Examining it he looked at her, "This isn't poison or anything, right?" She laughed, "No, it's Lindor Truffles, expensive chocolate from Switzerland, this is the original kind and I ate all of it besides this one so you can have it." He hesitated, "I don't know..." Feeling aggravated she forced his mouth open and shoved the chocolate truffle into his mouth. He gagged and hacked, "You forgot to pull off the wrapper!!" Pulling the candy out of his mouth he pulled the wrapper off of it.

"I just can't believe you would shove chocolate into my mouth like that!" She pouted, "That was expensive chocolate, you're suppose to accept it with gratitude, where's the 'thank you ever so much my most awesomest best friend ever'?" Crossing her arms she turned her head away from him.

They sat in silence for a few moments.  sighed as she looked out at the colorful landscape below.  "It's really nice, up here." She whispered breaking the silence. Oshitari noticed the sad look on her face and decided to ask her.

"Why aren't you enjoying yourself, you didn't go on any roller-coasters today, maybe one or two but normally you would have gone on every ride."  He sighed as he looked at her. 

"I...like to eat." She mumbled quietly to him. He raised his eyebrow, "You like to ride roller-coasters too, being your friend for this long I think I know what you like."

She frowned at him, "don't you think that going to a carnival is something meant for a couple and my place should have been taken by your girlfriend, hmm what was her name, oh yeah, Kare Kategano am I correct?"

"What are you talking about?" He asked her with a confused look on his face. She turned to face him as tears pouring from her face, "I've been your friend for like ever and you don't even tell me about your secret girlfriend, plus Kare Kategano is such a stupid whiny whore, you could do so much better, and you're probably wondering how I found out, I'll tell you how, I saw you and her hugging behind the bookshelves at the library!!!!" she was panting now with tears pouring down her cheeks. 

Oshitari sighed shaking his head, "I'm not going out with Kategano, she confessed to me in the library and I rejected her and then she tripped so you came at the wrong time."

Wiping her eyes quickly turned away, "Why would you reject her, she's the most popular girl in the lower grade..." He smirked, "I like someone else."

grimaced then turned to him, poking his arm, "Who is she, come on tell me. Yuushi~"

"She loves to eat." He said to her with a smile she never seen before. She found herself laughing, "Oh my god you love a loser!" After laughing for a few minutes she finally stopped and suddenly stared at him in horror.

She shook her head and felt her face heat up, "Y…you like…..me?" Smirking he nodded, "yeah, I do, and I can't believe you called yourself a loser." She looked down at the floor, her face filled with embarrassment. After waiting 2 minutes he finally asked her, "Yes or no?"

Looking away she puffed out her cheeks, "I'm hungry."

Yuushi almost fell over, "Are you serious!?!  Can't you just answer this simple question?"

Puffing out her cheeks more she pouted, "I do like you  but I'm hungry!!" He grinned, "See, that wasn't so hard." At that moment the ferris wheel came to a stop with a jolt.  eeped as Yuushi grabbed her arm. They got it out and he began to pull her towards the roller coasters. She gasped, "I'm going to barf if I go on that ride, Yuushi don't be like this!!"

"BLEEEEHHHHHHHH...."

"Let's go on one more ride, okay ?" Oshitari asked her with a smirk plastered on his face.

She glared at him from up the trashcan, "I hate you...." He frowned, "You were the one saying that riding the carousel is something a couple must do at a amusement park."

snorted as she wiped her mouth, "You always have your way don't you?" Nodding his head he pulled her away from the garbage can as they both jumped onto the carousel.

As she felt the wind dance across her face she sighed, the music was so beautiful and the breeze was so refreshing. The best thing was that this wasn't a roller-coaster, it wasn't going to make her barf. Running his hand through her long hair he kissed the ends of her hair, "Don't you think, it was overall a good day?" Leaning in he kissed her, slowly moving away he smirked. She scratched her head, "I'm hungry." Chuckling to himself he ruffled the top of her head, "don't ever change."
